Leander has manufactured traditional signs and architectural castings for generations, with an extensive archive of historic patterns and designs. Rather than designing every fingerpost completely from scratch, we can combine established column, arm, collar, column base (where appropriate) and finial designs to create a fingerpost appropriate to the individual project.
This gives customers the benefits of a proven product range while retaining the flexibility to choose the appearance, lettering, directions, colours and details required for their location.
For restoration and conservation projects, we can also investigate matching or reproducing existing historic components.
Your Structural Engineer provides the required column size/specification and we develop the decorative column arrangement around the structural core.

Pedestrian fingerposts

These provide considerable flexibility in styling, wording and appearance.
Highway fingerposts
Fingerposts installed as traffic signs on the public highway may need to comply with applicable traffic-sign requirements.

For pedestrian applications, lettering can be selected to complement the style of the project.
For highway applications, the appropriate lettering and sign requirements must be considered.

Choose from a range of traditional and decorative column styles, together with finials and other details.
Where appropriate, Leander can also use our hybrid column construction, combining decorative cast aluminium components with a structural metal core.

Need something different?
If our standard components don't provide the required appearance, Leander can also develop bespoke or reproduction fingerpost components.
We can work from existing signs, historic components, drawings, photographs or new design information. New patterns/tooling may be required for genuinely bespoke cast components.
