Sculptures & Murals

Here at Leander Architectural we offer a manufacture new and repair or restore (even adding new names to) existing memorials – from simple cast grave markers on stakes through to large public works.

As well as casting complete pieces and sections for sculptors, we also undertake sculpture commissions ourselves. The most common are life-and-a-quarter size figurative sculptures of famous people but more unusual projects also come our way.

Mural panels are also sculpted and cast, ranging from single small panels to very large murals cast in sections.

SCULPT, DESIGN, CAST & MANUFACTURE

From the first enquiry, Leander will help with design, choice of materials, colours, languages, grammar and fixings. Every plaque or sign produced, is first drawn to scale giving the customer the opportunity to request changes or simply approve the layout.

We are able to sculpt, design, cast and manufacture new memorial tablets, regimental insignia, memorial swords and figures. Aluminium and Bronze are our traditional materials to work with, but we often use others as requested.

Military and War Memorials

Recent projects include memorials for the Royal Marines, King’s Regiment, Manchester Regiment and Manchester University, plus the recasting of all the war memorial tablets at Crewe War Memorial.

A whole series of bronzes were sculpted and cast for this memorial to the “Cockleshell Heroes” near Bordeaux. They were cast in aluminium bronze (“silver bronze”) which is a colour preferred by the Royal Marines.

Foreign & Commonwealth Office Commision

In 2014, we were commissioned by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to produce a series of bronzes commemorating overseas winners of the Victoria Cross in World War 1. These were exhibited at Lancaster House before being shipped to the relevant countries.

Grave Markers and Memorials

Grave markers, memorial plaques and cast metal sculptures manufactured by specialist designers; we offer a range of high quality grave markers and plaques to suit a wide variety of locations. These can mark new graves through to commemorating a special place or event.

Our bespoke plaques and sculptures can be a fitting memorial to a loved one – whether to be installed in the ground, on a boulder, a bench, a wall or free standing.

The Royal Label Factory

The Royal Label Factory and Leander Architectural have a long history in producing memorial plaques and grave markers in Aluminium and Bronze – materials that do not corrode easily and can last a very long time.

As successors to the Royal Label Factory, we are able to still offer their full range supplemented by our own bespoke designs.
